Supporting Conservation and Preservation

To safeguard the University of Florida’s most vulnerable and valuable collections, we must build the conservation infrastructure that our students, researchers, and community deserve. Our conservation and preservation team plays a vital role in protecting materials that document Florida’s history, scientific discovery, cultural heritage, and the legacy of the university itself. Yet demand far exceeds our current resources.

Your investment will help UF create its first fully equipped conservation lab—providing the tools, machinery, and controlled environment needed to treat rare books, manuscripts, maps, photographs, and works of art on paper. It will also support an endowed conservation position that strengthens a unique partnership between the UF Libraries and the Harn Museum of Art, ensuring that expertise is not only sustained, but expanded for generations to come.

With your support, UF can preserve our shared history, empower groundbreaking research, and ensure that the stories entrusted to us remain accessible far into the future. Together, we can build a legacy of stewardship that endures.
