Disaster Clean-Up
The National Heritage Responders (NHR) respond to the needs of cultural institutions and the public during emergencies and disasters through coordinated efforts with first responders, state agencies, vendors, and the public.

Microfilm
As part of its preservation mission, the University of Florida microfilmed thousands of brittle books, journals and newspapers between the 1940’s and 2005.

Storage and Housing
Using appropriate enclosures, proper shelving, transportation, and handling, as well as keeping the libraries clean are all important aspects of preservation.
